Set on a 50-acre organic farm, providing an accessible place for visitors to engage with nature at it's best, building on the National collection of flora, tails and exhibits the area has to offer. The Burren Nature Sanctuary aims to educate guests in nature conservation through an extremely enjoyable experience.
In development for over 350 million years (The Burren), this sanctuary houses plantlife from all over the world that have come to flourish naturally in the hot limestone landscape. Guests are invited to the Burren Botany Bubble to witness this miracle yourself. Meet the farm animals that habitat in the sanctuary, maybe you will get a chance to feed the wide selection of mostly rescued, beautiful creatures.
There is also a child's playground and adventure area onsite to keep the little active members of your family busy and build a hunger before hitting the sanctuary Café, which is also located on-site.
As part of the Wild Atlantic Way and recognised as one of the European Destinations of Excellence, this is a place not to be missed while visiting the west of Ireland.
Located in Kinvara, only a short drive from the Lady Gregory Hotel here in Gort, we advise guest to get their hiking boots on and get this experience ticked off their itinerary.
