Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way is one of Ireland’s first long-distanced touring routes, stretching all along the Atlantic Coast. The county Galway stage of the Wild Atlantic Way is 300km long. If you ever dreamed of embarking on a journey to hidden and remote places of exceptional natural beauty, the coastal driving experience is for you. The route offers visitors an opportunity to truly discover the West Coast of Ireland. From cliff top views to great hikes and from historic cities to picture perfect coastal villages and some of the best surfing in the world, and it is all on our doorstep. Access to Galway from The US

Our convenient access to all main motorways from Dublin and Limerick means we are only 30 minutes from Shannon Airport, one hour and 10 minutes from Knock Airport and just over two hours from Dublin Airport. All airports have direct flights from several US city locations including Boston, Miami, New York, Atlanta, Dallas, Denver and many more destinations. A huge advantage of travelling back to the US from Ireland is that you will pass through U.S. Preclearance facility in both Dublin and Shannon Airport. They are two of only a handful of airports outside North America that offers this facility. The benefit is that having cleared USCBP, passengers arriving in the US are treated as domestic arrivals, allowing them to avoid immigration queues, pick up their bags and go.

• Car Hire companies are located in all the airports and we recommend that you book an automatic car in advance of your arrival.
• In Ireland, we drive on the left-hand side.
• Operating speed limits are in kilometres.
• Ireland has 3 pin plugs like the UK.
• Please check roaming charges with your mobile phone provider before travelling to Ireland as this can add up to be quite costly.
